WHAT IS AN 'OFF THE PEG' DRESS?
Off The Peg, also sometimes called an Outlet, means that the dress you try is the one you get. Most of them are ex-sample dresses from traditional wedding shops, but we also have some pre-worn dresses, and some brand new, direct from manufacturer dresses. Just because they are off the peg doesn't mean you are getting a poorer quality dress, and no one would know unless you told them!
DOES OFF THE PEG MEAN THEY ARE DIRTY OR DAMAGED?
Not at all! We don't buy any dresses that are damaged or stained. Occasionally if some dresses have been tried on a lot, they may need cleaning or a few beads replacing etc. If you buy a full-price dress, this is included in the price so that when you get it, the dress is as good as new. Sale dresses are sold as seen, but we will try and point out any imperfections to you, although it is your responsibility to check the dress over fully.
WHEN SHOULD I START LOOKING FOR MY DRESS?
There's no single answer to that question as its very much down to when you are ready. Some customers buy years before, some just weeks before - and as our dresses are off the peg, in theory you can buy the day before (although we wouldn't recommend it!) The question to ask yourself is are you ready to commit if you find the perfect dress? If not, then it may be too early.
I'M A CURVY BRIDE, DO YOU HAVE ANYTHING FOR ME?
Absolutely! Plus-size dresses are the most popular in our shop, and we work hard to have as much stock as we can in sizes 18+. Stock changes all the time, but we try and carry dresses up to a 32, and sometimes larger.
CAN YOU ARRANGE FOR THE DRESS TO BE FITTED TOO?
Yes, and unlike some shops we don't add a margin or make any profit from fittings! We do this by giving you the names of specialist bridal seamstresses that we have worked with for many years, and who will work with you and bill you directly - but we are always here if you have any questions or to resolve any issues (although in 12 years we have only had to get involved twice).
CAN DRESSES BE MADE BIGGER OR SMALLER?
It's pretty easy to make dresses smaller - we've even had an 18 fitted to a size 8 - so you can widen your options by looking at bigger dresses. It's more difficult to make a dress bigger, although there are some options in terms of letting seams out or adding corsets to zip-back dresses. We have years of experience so are able to advise you of your options.
DO YOU OFFER REFUNDS OR EXCHANGES?
We don't offer refunds unless a full-price dress is found to be faulty, so it's important to be sure its the right dress before you make payments. Sale dresses are sold as seen so are not eligeable for refunds.
We do offer exchanges to another dress, although if your dress has already been cleaned, we don't offer to clean the new dress, you would have to cover this yourself. We also do a straight swop so can't reimburse you for any difference in price, this is to cover the cost of additional appointments and the original dress being off sale for a period of time.
HOW CAN I PAY FOR MY DRESS?
We don't take cards due to the costs involved, but you can pay cash, bank transfer or PayPal, and possibly other electronic methods if agreed.
Sale dresses need to be paid in full and taken away on the day. Full price dresses require a £100 deposit to be secured, with full payment due 30 days later. We are however open to discussing splitting the final payment into two should you need to.
